Soma79 is a solo artist and former member of hip-hop groups Project Mayhem and Mic Monarchy. Soma79 has produced two instrumental hip-hop albums, "OX's Mystery Vault" (2020) and "XO SEVIL" (2022), as well as "OXIDATION MOONSDAY" (2023), a MF DOOM mega-mix featuring 30 minutes of MF DOOM raps over original beats by Soma79.
Soma79's debut solo album, "Broadcasting from Channel 79" was released in 2009 and featured appearances by Mac Lethal, Judge the Disciple, Oblivious, Hush Harding and more. After several years of dropping singles such as "Seinfeld" and "Crown Me Now", both featuring Copywrite, Onest the Grease God, Soma79 will return to mic for his first solo project in over a decade, "Quiet Life, Loud Friends," produced by Pilze Beats. The 6 song EP features appearances by Copywrite, Wordplay da Flyest MC, Jeh $inatra and Onest the Grease God. "You're Scaring the Ducks", a second EP collaboration between Soma79 & Pilze Beats, will follow in 2024 featuring appearances by Percee P, Elzhi, Reks, Copywrite and more.
Soma79 is also hard at work on their largest project yet, "Drinking Songs for Children: The Album & Film," a full length film and album created by Soma79. The album features appearances by Elzhi, Ras Kass, Young Dirty Bastard, Esoteric, Kool Keith, Copywrite, Mac Lethal, Aztech from Hybrid Thoughts and a few other surprises. Details regarding the "Drinking Songs for Children" film will be released as it gets closer to completion, currently slated for 2025.
